Good afternoon, Pirate families,
This is Dr. Woods-Weeks calling with the weekly update. First a heartfelt thank you to our amazing PTA for a fantastic ThurYah!
As a reminder, Monday, April 10, 2023, is a TWD. No school for students. School will resume on Tuesday, April 11, at the regular time.
While we’re looking forward to a strong finish to the school year, we’re also planning for NEXT year. Your principal is calling to invite you to a discussion that will allow you to get your questions answered about our new Growing Together academic programs and student assignment initiative that begins in the 2024-2025 school year. Please join me and others within our school community for a conversation on May 2, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium. We ask that you RSVP using the below registration link so that we may know that you’re coming. We look forward to seeing you.

AP Exams are scheduled for the first two weeks of May. The schedule for testing times, dates, and locations is available on the school’s website. Please share this widely with your students as not all students taking an exam are in an AP class this semester.
Report cards were distributed on Thursday, if your student has not shared his/her report with you, please ask him/or to do so at this time. We have just eight weeks left in this school year, and it is imperative that students do not lose the great strides they have made. It is still not too late to finish the semester strong. You can do it! Reach for the stars and shine bright like a diamond.
That said, parents please continue to help us enforce the DPS Code of Conduct by ensuring that your student adheres to the rules, policies and procedures set forth. Students show your school pride by wearing our school colors on Friday. I will see each of you at the River Tuesday. Go forth and make it a great evening! Roll Pirates Roll!!!
