Weekly Announcement - August 7, 2022

Congratulations, Durham School of Technology! We are off to an awesome school year! This is Principal Wright with your weekly update!

A huge thank you to our PTSA for loving up on us; serving us a great breakfast Thursday morning! We had enough for Friday as well. YOU ROCK, and we appreciate your thoughtfulness! 

The official start time for school is 9:15 AM, dismissal is 4:15 PM. Scholars, please remember, at 9:15 AM, you will report to homeroom tomorrow. 
This week we will distribute Chromebooks and chargers. Please remember, scholars, that this laptop should be charged nightly, and you must bring it to school daily ready to be used. Be patient this week, and we will get this equipment out to you as quickly as we can. 

Durham Tech scholars, please remember your classes start Monday, August 15th and you must log into your online class or attend your in-person class on the first day of classes. All Durham Tech scholars should report to Durham School of Technology for a mandatory meeting Friday, August 12th. The meeting start time is 11:00 AM until 12 Noon in the lab. 

All car riders, please remember to enter from Fayetteville Street. Make the first quick right and come down to the end of the parking lot to drop off. We are asking scholars to walk in front of their cars if they exit the car on the right side. Everyone, please refrain from being on your phone while in the line to drop off/pick up. Please be patient and kind. Remember, even though this is high school, we are still teaching our scholars this process.

Lastly, please note some additional important dates:
8/15 - Durham Tech weekly classes start - Scholars MUST attend in-person classes or log into online classes on the first day       

8/20 – Durham Tech Saturday classes start - Scholars MUST attend in-person classes or log into online classes on the first day           

8/24 – Required Teacher Workday – No school for students

8/30 -Senior Parent/Student Information Session 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM                                                                                                                                 
9/5 – Holiday – School Closed


9/20 -Sophomore & Junior Parent/Student Information Session 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM


9/27 - Freshmen Parent/Student Information Session 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM    

                                                                                                                 
10/18 – Student/Teacher/Parent Showcase/Conference Session – Floating Event 4:30 – 6:30 PM
