Weekly Announcement - May 16, 2021

 

Hello New Tech Family! This is Principal Wright with your weekly update!

Only 10 more days until GRADUATION 2021! Unbelievable!

Tomorrow, Monday, May 17th, is the first day of EOC Testing. Only New Tech Scholars who are enrolled in English II this semester should report to New Tech in the morning by 8:30 AM, with your fully charged school-issued laptop & charger and your mask for check-in. Remember, scholars; you must complete and pass the DPS Screener before entering the building. The screener is located on our website on the left-hand side under the DPS Quick Link. EOC Testing will end at 1:00 PM tomorrow.

We will also start the laptop & charger and book collection tomorrow May 17, including Durham Tech Books. See schedule below:

Monday, May 17th Seniors report with laptop & charger, and book(s) including Durham Tech Books to New Tech between 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

Tuesday, May 18th Sophomores report to New Tech with laptop & charger and book(s) including Durham Tech books between 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM.

Thursday, May 20th and Friday, May 21st Freshmen report to New Tech with laptop & charger and book(s) between 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

On Monday, May 24th, Juniors report to New Tech with laptop & charger and book(s), including Durham Tech books between 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM.

Lastly, Scholars ensure you check your Chromebook for updates tonight if you have not already. Use the instructions Ms. Van Culin sent to you in your email. See instructions below. Thank you, stay safe, stay healthy, stay encouraged and make it a great evening!

Please follow the instructions below to ensure that your Chromebook is up to date for EOC testing that begins on Monday, May 17th.

  • Turn on your Chromebook.
  • Connect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi.
  • Log in
  • At the bottom right, select the time.
  • Select Settings.
  • At the bottom of the left panel, select About Chrome OS.
  • Under "Google Chrome OS," you'll find which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook uses.
  • Select Check for updates.
  • If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.
  • If an update is installed, be sure to click the restart button and allow the update to process until the login screen reappears.
