Celebrating A Trailblazer - MaryAnn Black

Duke Health celebrates the life and legacy of MaryAnn Black

 MaryAnn Black

The MaryAnn Black documentary aired on WRAL Jan. 13th and is available here. It examines her life and work and the positive impact she had on so many others.  That story is told through interviews with people touched by Black’s work, people she worked with, and her surviving family members.

The program features interviews with some of the many people whose lives she touched, including Vantrell Holmes, who graduated from Project SEARCH and is currently working in Durham at Big Spoon Roosters. MaryAnn was instrumental in starting Project SEARCH at Duke Regional and establishing the City of Medicine Academy.
