Career Day (Grades 6-12) /Reality of Money (Grades 9-12) was held May 1, 2024. SCS collaborated with State Employees Credit Union for Reality of Money. 

Career Day

The purpose of this day is to expose our students to a wide variety of professional opportunities and to elicit thoughts concerning career choices.

Reality of Money

The Reality of Money financial simulation is a hands-on, interactive, real-world activity.  During the activity, students made financial decisions about paying for housing, transportation and other monthly expenses as they are “transformed” into young adults with jobs and other financial responsibilities to manage. Students were exposed to several financial learning points such as the value of furthering their education after high school, the limiting effect bad credit has on their lifestyle choices and "living within their means" allowing them to save for their financial future.
