DSA Foundation Capital Campaign 2018-19

Visit their webiste to donate today!

Dear Friends of Durham School of the Arts,

As we approach the holidays, please consider making a gift to the DSA Foundation to benefit our students. The DSA Foundation is a nonprofit organization that receives grants and tax deductible contributions to fund improvements that allow our children to share their artistic talent.  The Foundation is run by community and parent volunteers who raise funds for worthy arts-related investments at the school such as the Save Our Steinways project which allowed us to renovate one of DSA’s Steinway concert grand pianos.  In the recent past the Foundation has also:

  • Provided scholarships for students to attend high quality summer camps in the arts
  • Provided computers for the photo classes to work with digital photography
  • Purchased string instruments for the music department
  • Funded needed supplies for the art department
  • Initiated the Teasley Piano Care Fund  to ensure high quality piano performances

These improvements wouldn’t have been possible without contributions to the Foundation from parents and other friends of DSA.

Despite current budget challenges, DSA continues to offer both a stellar arts curriculum and a rigorous academic program. Listed below are a few of the items that we wish to support:

  • Support for DSA faculty to bring in guest artists to hold workshops for our students
  • Support scholarships for DSA students for summer camps in all 11 arts concentration areas
  • Materials for art and music classes

Your gift will make a difference!  If you would like to specify where you would like to direct your donation, please note your preferences on the pledge form.  You may also donate online at

Remember, your gift is tax-deductible.  All donations postmarked by December 31st count for the current tax year.  We can make great things happen when the Durham community, Durham High Alumni, and DSA families/alumni come together to support arts education.

Thanks so much for your consideration!
