The DPS school board and superintendent are committed to a true living wage for all support staff, and we also continue to have one of the highest teacher supplements in North Carolina, up to $11,100 based on years of experience.
Teachers will receive on average a 4.2 percent salary increase for the 2022-23 school year. Classified employees will receive a 4 percent salary increase, bringing DPS’s minimum wage for full-time employees to $16 per hour, including substitute pay. We’re also excited to share that our bus driver starting hourly pay rate has risen to $18.13.
