Principal’s Weekly Message – Week of 3/12/23
The school year is flying by. The third quarter ended Friday, March 10. Quarter 3 assignments will not be accepted after Friday, March 10 and grades are final. When students return we will only have one nine weeks left in the school year. Our goal is to finish the school year strong. Please contact your child’s teacher or grade level administrator if you would like a conference to discuss your child’s progress. Working together we can ensure the success of every child in our school.
Please mark your calendars for the following important school dates:
- Spring Intercession: March 13 – March 31 (No School)
- Students Return to School – Monday, April 3
- Quarter 3 Report Cards – Thursday, April 6
- No School – Friday, April 7 and Monday, April 10
What is Take Two?
Take Two is an opportunity for all DPS students who do not score a 3, 4 or 5 on the reading, math and/or 8th grade science EOG or the Math I EOC to receive remediation and to retake assessments. Take Two will be held at Rogers-Herr this year on Monday, June 12 – Thursday, June 15, 2023. Your child will take the North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG) tests May 26-June 9, 2023. Students who score below a level 2 (Not Proficient) will need to retake the assessments at Rogers-Herr. Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided. Registration forms will be sent home after the intercession break. If your child scores Not Proficient (below a level 3) on an EOG/EOC, your child will be expected to attend Take Two. Once families receive the registration forms, we are asking all parents/guardians to complete the pre-registration form, as this will allow us plenty of time to arrange transportation and for planning purposes.

The First Day of School next year for Year-Round students is Monday, July 17. The school hours for students will remain the same (8:30am-3:20pm). The 2023-2024 year round calendar may be found on our website.
Yearbooks
The 2022-2023 RHMS Yearbook is currently on sale for $25. Pre-order forms were sent home with students. Don’t wait, order your yearbook today. The last day to order a yearbook is Friday, April 14th. If you did not receive an order form, additional forms are located in the main office. We will not have a weekly Sunday message during the intersession break. Our next Sunday message will be Sunday, April 2. We look forward to seeing all of our students after the intersession break bright and early on Monday, April 3!

Anuncio semanal de la directora – Semana de 3/11/23
El año escolar se va volando. El tercer trimestre terminó el viernes 10 de marzo. Las tareas del 3er trimestre no se aceptarán después del viernes 10 de marzo y las calificaciones son finales. Cuando los estudiantes regresen, solo nos quedarán nueve semanas en el año escolar. Nuestro objetivo es terminar el año escolar de manera sólida. Comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo o con el administrador de nivel de grado si desea una conferencia para hablar sobre el progreso de su hijo. Trabajando juntos podemos asegurar el éxito de cada niño en nuestra escuela.
Marque sus calendarios para las siguientes fechas escolares importantes:

¿Qué es Take Two?
Take Two es una oportunidad para que todos los estudiantes de DPS que no obtienen un puntaje de 3, 4 o 5 en lectura, matemáticas y / o ciencias en la prueba de fin de grado (EOG) o en la prueba de matemáticas I (EOC) reciban remediación y puedan volver a tomarlas. Take Two se llevará a cabo en Rogers-Herr este año del lunes 12 de junio al jueves 15 de junio de 2023. Su hijo tomará las pruebas de fin de grado (EOG) de Carolina del Norte del 26 de mayo al 9 de junio de 2023. Los estudiantes que obtengan puntajes por debajo del nivel 2 (No competente) deberán volver a tomar las pruebas en Rogers-Herr. Habrá transporte, desayuno y almuerzo. Los formularios de inscripción se enviarán a casa después del descanso de intercesión. Si su hijo obtiene un puntaje de No competente (por debajo de un nivel 3) en un EOG / EOC, la expectativa es que su hijo asista a Take Two. Una vez que las familias reciben los formularios de inscripción, estamos pidiendo a todos los padres / tutores que completen el formulario de preinscripción, ya que esto nos dará bastante tiempo para organizar el transporte y hacer planes.

Anuarios escolares
El Anuario RHMS 2022-2023 ya está a la venta por $25. Enviamos los formularios de pedido a casa con el estudiante. El último día para pedir un anuario es el viernes 14 de abril. Si no recibió un formulario de pedido, los formularios adicionales se encuentran en la oficina principal.
