This past weekend, Ms. Allah had the pleasure of accompanying 4 Neal students (2 current and 2 former) as they continued on their journey with the School of the Future Competition. Please join us in saying congratulations to the Neal Middle School team for placing first in North Carolina and for the South East Region in the SchoolsNEXT competition. Our team was comprised of Seth Allen, Mikal Ali, Irene Tamba and Mackenzie Giantino. Irene and Mackenzie are currently students at J.D. Clement Early College.
The students went on to the finals in Chicago and won the Award of Merit! They were the third place international winners! Check out what judges had to say about the Neal Middle School team:
"Challenged to plan and design sustainable and resilient learning spaces that encourage innovation, critical thinking and collaboration, these young designers have broadened the potential of a school by connecting excellence in design with excellence in education. The Neal Middle School students displayed remarkable enthusiasm, rigorous research and exception teamwork, creating solutions that not only meet the needs of students, but address the economy and society of the future, enabling them to master the skills they need to take on the challenges of a world defined by change."
It's always great to see our Neal Eagles making all of us extremely proud!
