Principal's Update 9/18

Good evening Githens Raiders!  This is Dr. Lanier with a brief message for the week!  Please listen carefully to all details!

Wednesday, September 28, is an Early Release Day.  Scholars will be dismissed at 1:20.  Parents, please begin to communicate your transportation plan with your scholars to ensure they are picked up on time.

Parents and students are invited to attend the 2022-2023 Githens Curriculum Night on September 28, 2022 from 4:00 to 6:15pm.  Families will follow their scholars’ schedules and visit all of the scholars' classes in order to learn about each class’s curriculum, grading, activities, and more.  Please plan to arrive promptly at 4:00 so that you can follow the class rotation.  Families will also have the opportunity to sign up for conferences with the team of teachers about individual student needs to occur at a later date as the purpose of this event is to gain general information.  Families with students who are identified as AIG should plan to arrive at 3:00 in order to sign their scholar’s Differentiated Education Plans and learn about programming for their scholars.  The AIG meeting will be held in the media center.  Additionally, September 28 is the date when parents will be able to view the first progress report for their scholars in PowerSchool.  At the time of this event, all scholars should have a minimum of nine grades in all classes.

The Raiders sports schedule for the week is as follows:

Tuesday, September 20 – Volleyball, Boys Soccer, & Cross Country versus Lucas at Githens

Wednesday, September 21 – Football versus Neal at Githens
