Take A Child Outside Week is a national initiative through the Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh. As part of this initiative, Durham Public Schools Outdoor Learning is providing some events in honor of the week and is asking teachers to pledge to take their students outside once this week (September 25-29) for an instructional or social-emotional lesson (recess does not count!). 

September 25 - Hub Farm Take A Child Outside Celebration, 3-5 p.m. (117 Milton Rd.) 

September 26 - Informational meeting for the DPS Community interested in learning about the North Carolina Environmental Educator Certification 

September 27 - Virtual livestream with Hub Farm Educator Geoff 9-10 a.m. 

Sign the pledge to take your students outside! Year-round schools are encouraged to take the pledge for a week outside of intercession.
