Student of the Month | February 2024 | Camren Daniels

In so many words, Camren Daniels is described as mature, high-performing, and loyal.  His head basketball Coach Gregory Motley actually puts it this way: “He will run through a brick wall for you,” Motley said.

Camren is running toward his own goals as well. He aspires to earn a full scholarship to Hampton University or North Carolina Central University in preparation for a career in accounting, while also playing basketball for the school of his choice.

Cameron has maintained a {      } GPA while also overcoming the loss of his father two years ago. “It took a big toll on him, but it matured him and built him into a young man of great resilience,” said Coach Motley.

Camren credits his mother for her encouragement. “My mom has always done what she needed to do to make sure the family is doing good. I feel like I take after her in a sense because I know there are things I don't want to do, but I always will, because just like her I know I have to get it done to be where I want to be in life and to put my family in a better situation.”

He has found consistency to be challenging because it does get hard having to work hard each and every day.  I would say one success is just making it as far as i have come with school keeping good grades and balancing my personal life, basketball, and school well.

“The fear of being average motivates me. Ever since I was little, I’ve wanted to be the best in whatever I do,” he said.

Camren is not only driven, but family-oriented. “I love playing basketball and spending time with family and friends in my free time,” he says.

His Coach believes Camren will achieve greatly and truly holds the key to his destiny.

“My biggest accomplishment I've achieved so far is receiving basketball scholarships to go to school, being that I've dreamed of this since I was a little kid and seeing it come true was a surreal feeling for me.”
