Principal's Update 9/19/22
Good evening cougar families, this is Carrington with updates for the Week of September 19.
Parents, please join us for our curriculum night on September 21, 2022 at 5:30pm. You will have an opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and learn about the curriculum. We look forward to seeing you there.
Fall Pictures will be taken Thursday, September 22nd for 6th and 7th grades and Friday, September 23rd for 8th grade and Special Programs.
Please support our fall Carrington fund raiser. We invite you to join Mangum Elementary, Little River, Lucas and Carrington for a fun filled evening of food, festivities and a 5k/Fun Run on Friday, September 30th at the Coffey Ground Ranch in Bahama.. The event begins at 5:30, followed by the Fun Run at 5:45. Fall Festival activities will begin at 6:00 with the event concluding at 9:00 pm. There is also a 60-foot obstacle course including a warped wall, and a Fort Night Gaming trailer! We hope to see everyone there and thank you for all you do to support Cougar Country. Tuesday, September 27: GREECE PARENT INTEREST MEETING: Carrington’s Global Travel Program is heading to Greece over Spring Break. We will be touring Athens to see the ancient Olympic Stadium, the Acropolis, touring an olive farm, and exploring the ancient ruins. The second half of our trip will be a cruise around the Greek Isles including Crete and Santorini.
There will be a IN PERSON meeting at 6:30pm in A-2 to discuss the trip, requirements, and payment plan options. We would love to see you there.

This week in sports, Tuesday, September 20th, volleyball and boys soccer will host Rogers-Herr. Both games will start at 4:45 pm. On Wednesday, September 21st, football will host Rogers-Herr. The game will start at 4:45 pm. On Thursday, September 22th, volleyball and boys soccer will travel to Neal. Both games will start at 4:45 pm. Tickets must be purchased online at ticketspicket.com or on Carrington’s athletic webpage for home games. When purchasing away game tickets, you must go to the opposing team's link and website to purchase tickets. Carrington cannot control away game ticket sales or errors. The cost for game tickets are $5.00. Elementary age and under are free. Per Durham Public Schools Athletic Department, spectators are limited to one small, clear bag. Spectators who leave an athletic contest may not be allowed reentry into that contest. All parties must be present at the gate when validating your ticket(s). Screenshots and or pictures of game tickets are not allowed. All games are subject to change due to weather and or lack of referees.
Parents and students, middle school students must be accompanied by an adult to enter and watch athletic events moving forward, this includes MS and HS athletics. This is part of spectator and safety guidance for DPS athletic events. The only exception is when middle school students have received invitations from high schools.
