Principal's Update 4/18/22

Good afternoon Cougar Country

In an effort to prepare for next year, we need all families to complete the DPS  Back to School Form so that you can register for bus transportation, confirm your contact information, and more. You can find instructions on the DPS website at DPSNC.net, or you can come by our school support event at Carrington on April 20 from 5:30 - 6:30pm for help filling out the form. If you cannot attend but need to schedule an appointment for assistance, please call Carrington at 919-560-3916.  Again, this is very important to ensure that your child has bus transportation lined up for next year, in addition to other important information.  All transportation requests will be reset and all families will need to complete this form to secure transportation for next year.

The Book Fair is BACK. Shop in person April 13-20th. Tuesday, April 19th the Book Fair will be open until 6:30pm so you can shop after school with your family/friends.

Carrington PTO will hold its next meeting on Monday, April 16th at 6:00pm via Zoom.  Join via Zoom https://dpsnc.zoom.us/j/93627869592.

If you would like your child participate in a summer learning opportunity at Carrington from July 11 - July 28, Monday - Thursdays from 8:45 - 12:45,  please complete the Summer Bridge registration form that went home with your child and return it to Carrington.

6th grade parents, Beginning 7th grade orchestra was left off the list of elective options for next year’s classes. Students can still register for orchestra by contacting Ms Rogerson at the school. Students can sign up on the sheet on the door of room M3 or Ms Johnson’s office door in Guidance. If you are interested, please contact Ms Rogerson as soon as possible.

6th garde parents - It is time to update your child’s immunizations.  NC state law requires that all students who are 12 or are entering 7th grade, must have updated Tdap and meningitis immunizations.  Student immunizations must be updated before they begin 7th grade.  Please contact your primary health care provider or the health department for these required immunizations.  If your child already has updated  immunizations this year, please send a copy of the immuniation record to the school.
