Report Cards went home Friday, November 1! Please review these with your students, and feel free to reach out to your teachers if you have questions or concerns. We are out of school Tuesday, November 5 as well as Monday, November 11. Let's make the most of the instructional days that we have together!
Join us at The Fall Festival on Friday, November 8th from 6-9PM. Right here on Carrington’s campus we will have a Giant Corn Maze, a Drive-in Movie, Food Trucks, Games and Prizes. The cost to enter is $10 per person. Tickets are on sale now through Thursday, Nov. 7th. Purchase your tickets online by going to Carrington’s Home Page or by going to bit.ly/cmsff24. Cash payments will be accepted on Wednesday and Thursday during Grade level lunches. The last day to purchase tickets will be Thursday, Nov. 7th. Don’t miss out on this fun event!
Just a reminder to 6th grade parents/guardians that the chocolate unit permission form and payment is due by November 6 at noon. No late payments will be accepted. We are still taking items from our chocolate unit wishlist. Please check with your team for needed items. This is a great unit for kids to work across all core classes on standards, get to know their classmates, and have fun with chocolate. The cost is $15 cash or you can pay online through the payment portal.

On Wednesday, Nov. 6, we will have grade level celebrations for all students who maintained 95% or higher attendance during the first quarter. These students will be awarded with ice cream, free time outside, and raffle prizes. Parents & guardians, please remember to send your child to school every day and submit notes for any absences.
There are no games, matches, or meets this week, however wrestling will have skills development Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm each day. Cheerleading tryouts will begin on Monday, November 4, from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm. Wrestling, and boys’ and girls’ basketball tryouts will begin on Monday, November 18, from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm.
Lastly, mark your calendars and join Superintendent Dr. Anthony Lewis as he hosts a series of meetings to hear directly from Durham Public Schools’ stakeholders about their experiences. All DPS families, students, staff, and Durham community members are invited to attend. All students are also encouraged to attend and share their feedback, as well, and to get involved in the community planning process.
