Greetings, Cougar Families! I am honored to share that at Thursday night's board meeting I was officially appointed as the permanent principal of Carrington Middle School. It has been a privilege to serve as your interim principal. Honestly, it's been a privilege to serve in every capacity at Carrington. Carrington is home, and I am thrilled to continue this journey together as we build on the progress we’ve made and strive for even greater success for our students in the years ahead.

This week we are wrapping up our iReady and Reading Plus testing, but we are excited to announce that we will start our weekly Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons for all students. This is one of our district priorities set by the superintendent’s office. We will be using an online platform called ReThink Ed to teach students valuable skills of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. We look forward to watching our students grow as holistic young individuals.

This week in sports, Monday, September 30, volleyball and boys soccer will travel to Neal. Tuesday, October 1, will be team picture day for volleyball, boys soccer, and cross-country.  On Wednesday, October 2, football and cheerleading will host Githens. On Thursday, October 3, volleyball, boys soccer and cross-country will host Githens. All athletic events will start at 4:45 pm. Tuesday, October 8, will be team picture day for cheerleading and football.
