Principal's Update for the Week of 4/14/24

Greetings this is Carrington with an update for week of April 14th

Parents, this week students will complete the Durham Public Schools end of year local benchmark tests. These important assessments will gauge where students are academically at this point in the school year and before the state end of grade testing. 

Please remind your students to get lots of rest the night before, power off their computers and be sure to bring their charged laptop with a power cord the day of the testing.

This week's sports schedule:

-On Monday, April 15th, our softball and girls' soccer teams will head to DSA, while baseball will take on DSA at Brodgen. All games begin at 4:45 pm. Additionally, boys’ tennis will travel to DSA, with their match starting at 4:00 pm.

-Tuesday, April 16th marks the home opener for track and field as they host Githens and Neal in a tri-meet starting at 4:45 pm.

-Wednesday, April 17th, our track and field team will compete at Shepard in another tri-meet starting at 4:45 pm.

-Thursday, April 18th, baseball, girls' soccer, and softball will travel to Lakewood for games starting at 4:45 pm. Simultaneously, boys' tennis will host Githens at Old Northern, their match starting at 4:00 pm.

Please note that all game schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions. Tickets can be conveniently purchased on GoFan.com through the link provided on our athletic webpage. Admission is $8.00, and elementary-age children and younger enter free. For the safety of our students, middle and elementary school attendees must be accompanied by an adult and remain under their supervision during the events. Please familiarize yourself with our stadium policy and procedures on the athletic webpage, including our clear bag and no re-entry policy for all athletic events.
