EOG Testing information for  Sunday May 21st, Thursday May 25th  & Sunday, May 29th:  

The State End-of-Grade Testing for Durham Public Schools will be administered from May 26th to June 9th.

8th Grade Science: The EOG Science test for 8th grade will be administered on Friday, May 26th. 

Reading: The EOG Reading test for 6th-8th grade will be administered on Wednesday, May 31st

Math: The EOG Math test for 6th-8th grade will be administered on Thursday, June 1.

Math I: The high school End of Cource (EOC) exam for Math I will be administered on Friday, June 2. 

The EOGs are designed to measure student performance on the goals, objectives, and grade-level competencies specified in the North Carolina Common Core Standards.  Students enrolled in high school Math I will also be administered the End-of-Course (EOC) summative assessments during the week.  Testing will begin at 8:30 AM each morning and end at approximately 12:00 PM.

Sports Banquet: the spring sports banquet will be held on Tuesday, May 23, at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria.  Student-athletes that completed the questionnaire will receive two dinner tickets.  If you did not complete the survey you are more than welcome to come to the awards ceremony.   

Required Student Immunizations: 6th & 7th garde parents - It is time to update your child’s immunizations.  NC state law requires that all students who are 12 or are entering 7th grade, must have updated Tdap and meningitis immunizations. Student immunizations must be updated before students can begin 7th grade.  Please contact your primary health care provider or the health department for these required immunizations.  If your child already has updated  immunizations this year, please send a copy of the immuniation record to the school if you have not already done so.

8th Grade Dance:  The 8th grade dance will be held on June 3 from 7pm-10pm. Tickets are available for 8th grade families to purchase on the CMS webpage under the parents tab.  Carrington.dpsnc.net > parents > online school payments > 8th grade formal.  

8th Grade Moving-On Ceremony: The 8th grade Moving On & Awards ceremony will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 10:00 am.  The ceremony will be held in our gym and space is quite limited.  Each student will receive two tickets for guests to attend.  Each guest will be required to enter with a ticket.  Any visitor without a ticket cannot be admitted.
