Black History in NC

Black History in NC

Sandy Ridge 3rd and 4th grade students will present "Black History in NC" on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at 5:30 pm. The event will feature a wax museum of influential African Americans of Durham, spoken monologue, musical and dance performances. Vendors will also be onsite for the public.

In celebration of the spirit of Black innovation & entrepreneurship, we are looking for Sandy Ridge families and friends that are representative of the African diaspora and own their own businesses, who would be interested in vending/advertising at our Community Pop-Up shop during our Black History program. To register to vend, go to https://tinyurl.com/SREBlackHistory and fill out the vendor registration form. The vending fee of $25 can be paid by cash or check (made out to Sandy Ridge Elementary School w/Vendor Fee in the memo line). The goal is to not only acknowledge black history but lift up and support the black community in the process. For more information, please contact Ms. Bailey by phone (919-560-2965 ext 69052), by email (courtney_bailey@dpsnc.net), or through Class Dojo.
