Philosophy:

Every student can benefit from a comprehensive counseling program

Every student is entitled to a safe and nurturing learning environment

Every student will be prepared to be a positive contributor in the 21st century community

Service Delivery:

Individual Counseling

Short-term, lasting for approx. 4 weeks

Occurs once a week or bi-weekly for approx. 15-30 minutes

Small Group Counseling

Consists of 4 to 6 students with similar concern

Short-term approx. 4-6 weeks

Occurs once a week for approx.30 minutes

Goals are to help students seek strategies or enhance skills to manage concerns that interfere with learning

Classroom Lessons

Concentration on DPS character traits

Various topics to meet the developmental needs of each grade level
