Jordan High School Students Learn About Agriscience at Industry Day
March 29, 2017
Hundreds of Jordan High School students had the chance to engage in roundtable discussions with regional agriscience employers March 28 at Agriscience Industry Day.
The career-readiness event was designed to expose students to the many career opportunities available in agriscience and learn what skills and training employers desire.
Participating employers included Bayer CropScience, Environmental Protection Agency, Durham Technical Community College, N.C. Cooperative Extension, and N.C. Central University’s BRITE (Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise) Program.
Jordan High School's agriscience pathway consists of Career & Technical Education courses in biotechnology, agriscience, and animal science. Many of the organizations that participated Industry Day sit on the school's Agriscience Business Alliance, which provides advisory, programmatic and financial support for the school's agscience program.
