Hello Parkwood Families,

This is your principal, Ms. Fearrington, with your weekly message.  I want to thank all our Kindergarten students and families that attended summer bridge.  We had an amazing time getting to know our newest Panthers and they did a great job of showing Parkwood PRIDE!  We have two weeks before the school year begins, so please listen and read the weekly message for important dates and information for the upcoming school year. 

Open House:

Open house will be hosted here at Parkwood on August 24^th from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.  You will be able to meet your child’s teacher, get your parent portal set up, meet all our wonderful staff and get transportation information and much more!  Please mark your calendar and be sure to attend.

First Day of School:

The first day of school is Monday, August 28^th!  This summer has flown by, but we are going to have an amazing school year. 

School Supplies:

We know that school supplies are already out, and they are being bought fast, so if you want to get ahead, the school supply list is on our Parkwood website under “Quick Links”.  We have a list of all grade levels listed.

Enrollment Process and Information:

As we prepare for the new school year, enrollment is very important.  Our data manager, Ms. Bellamy, has continued to reach out to families who have not provided all the necessary paperwork in the enrollment portal.  If you have received a call from Parkwood that involves completing documents for the enrollment process, you may come to Parkwood, Monday through Friday, 8am until 3pm.  All paperwork should be completed by August 21^st, to ensure enrollment is verified and confirmed.  Ms. Bellamy will be able to process your enrollment information and ensure that your kiddo is ready for the school year.  If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Ms. DyAsia Bellamy at Dyasia_bellamy@dpsnc.net. 

Kindergarten Staggered Entry Information:

Thank you again to all the wonderful Parkwood families that supported and attended summer bridge!  We are truly thankful to you for entrusting us with your children and look forward to an amazing school year.  Information for staggered entry will be coming next week.  We have made some adjustments to get schedule to ensure we have a smooth transition for families.

Important Information Coming:

Soon we will share information regarding morning arrival and dismissal.  There will be a slight change to carpool and where grade levels will be picked up.  It is important to start preparing your students for early arrival.  All students should arrive on time and be prepared to start the instructional day at 7:45am.  Please make sure to set up your parent portal and/or ensure that you have access to it.  All parents will be responsible for having a parent portal account to receive progress reports, report cards and assessment scores.  If you need assistance, please reach out to Ms. DyAsia Bellamy.
