5/2/2022 Message from Dr. Hart-Olivis

Good evening Hillandale Families, this is Dr. Hart-Olivis with this week’s Monday Message. This week is National Teacher Appreciation Week, and I’m honored to share my appreciation and admiration for the staff at Hillandale, who not only represent my colleagues in education, but also the incredible professionals who have helped me raise my own children.  We have several special treats this week from the PTA to say thank you to our teachers.  Tomorrow teachers have special desserts, Wednesday, PTA representatives will take the helm at carpool, and Friday our PTA will provide teachers lunch.  Students can pitch in by doing some special activities as well:Tuesday: Write a note or draw a picture for your teacherWednesday: Bring a flower (fresh or handmade) for your teacherThursday: Bring a used book for your classroomFriday: Do something special inspired by each staff member’s favorites form

Don’t forget your instructional assistants, specials teachers, and instructional supports like Advanced Academics, Exceptional Children’s teachers, and related services!

Have you updated your information in Powerschool Parent Portal?  Families, we need your help in completing this step to solidify your child’s enrollment for next year.  If you have not completed this step, your child’s transportation could be canceled or it could delay their ability to attend school.  Now you can complete all of your back-to-school paperwork online quickly, easily, and securely. This is a great way to update your contact information, fill out forms, and stay connected with your school. If you already have access to the PowerSchool Parent Portal:Log-on to the PowerSchool Parent Portal | CLICK HEREClick on the Enrollment tabSelect Current/Returning Student Information UpdateIf you DO NOT already have access to the PowerSchool Parent Portal:Update Using SNAPCODE (Note: This is not a Parent Portal Account)Your school has emailed access information to the email address on fileIf we do not have an email address on file, your access information was sent to the mailing address on file

The walls of Hillandale are in the process of being lined with students who are being named “Category 5” Hurricanes.  That’s what we’re calling our students who have made tremendous growth or shown proficiency with our recently finished standardized tests.  Students will be hearing a message from me soon about how to get their names entered in raffles for prizes based on their hard work.
