4/18/22 Monday Message from Dr. Hart-Olivis
Good evening Hillandale Families, this is Dr. Hart-Olivis with this week’s Monday Message.
We hope you and your family will join us tomorrow, April 19 for a Hillandale Dine Out Night from 4 pm to 8 pm at the Panera Bread located at 3800 Roxboro Road. Please remember to say you’re from Hillandale so part of their proceeds come back to us as we help your child at school.
Please also gear up and get ready for this year’s spring Hike for Hillandale! Hike for Hillandale is an annual fundraising event for The Hillandale Family to get together and get their bodies moving on our gorgeous outdoor trail. Family members, businesses, and other supporters can make donations using the envelope your child brought home. The Hike is one of the most loved annual events at Hillandale, and we hope to bring in a lot of donations to help us keep our students learning in our beautiful outdoor learning areas.
Please keep collecting pledges! To volunteer or hike with your child, please check your Seesaw messages for more information.
Hillandale shirts have become a HOT commodity over the past weeks at school. Spirit wear sales are going on until April 28! This will be the last opportunity to purchase for this school year.
Another Hillandale Family Dine Out Night will be Monday, April 25 at Pomodoro Italian Kitchen at 1811 Hillandale Road. We’d love to see you, and don’t forget to tell them you’re part of The Hillandale Family for part of the evening’s profit to come back to our students at Hillandale.
Families of students in third through fifth grades, please be on the lookout for messaging from your child’s teacher about our upcoming CASE 21 testing. Your child’s teacher or grade level will be sending the dates your child will be taking the assessment. Students have been working so hard on both stamina and practicing the most powerful standards as they get ready for these assessments and, of course, the EOGs. Since the last CASE 21 assessment in December, students have developed goals and focused on where they can grow. I’ll be sweetening those victories by recognizing the students who make tremendous growth from the middle-of-year CASE 21 to this spring version. This will give us a good idea of what steps we need to take to make a huge difference before end of grade tests. Please be sure your child has enough rest, and, if possible a good breakfast in the morning. Please also encourage your child to use great study practices and to try their best when the test comes. Not only will students with incredible growth be recognized, but their names will also be entered in a raffle for special prizes!
