8/29/2021 Special Message from Principal Hart-Olivis

Good evening Hillandale Families,

This is Dr. Hart-Olivis with a special message as we go into the next week.  Thank you again to our families, students, and professionals who made our first week back to school a successful one.

As we approach next week, there are a few reminders and updates.

Please remember to do a health screening for your child each day to eliminate the possibility of spread of COVID-19 or other illnesses at Hillandale.  Students who present any of the symptoms of COVID-19 may be sent home, and we want to reduce the number of our students who spend time out of their classrooms during this crucial academic time.

We are continuing to hone the carpool process, and one important detail is that we ask each parent to know your child’s carpool number, as well as your child’s teacher.  This will assist us in getting your child to your vehicle safely and quickly, which reduces wait time drastically.

Also, I want to share with our Hillandale Family that I will be stepping away from the building sooner than expected to welcome the newest addition to both my home and The Hillandale Family.  During my absence over the next few weeks, an absolute dream team will be assisting our staff as we S.T.O.R.M. and perform, including our own fantastic assistant principal, Mr. Michael Bloom, as well as two interim principals who will share the role, Ms. Carolyn Pugh and Mr. Dan Holloman.  All three of these remarkable administrators have a proven track record of success, and I’m thrilled to have their strengths come together to continue the strong trajectory of The Hillandale Family during my time away.

I can’t wait to see the amazing work that will happen at Hillandale until I return later this academic year.  Until then, I’ll be with you in carpool, and I’ll remain one of the most fervent, supportive parents in The Hillandale Family.

Have a wonderful week, and stay tuned for more important updates this week.
