5/25/21 Device Collection Info
Good evening Hillandale Families,
Please see the information below regarding device collection for student laptops:
May 28 In Person: K, 1
June 1 In Person: AM - 4th Grade PM - 5th Grade
June 2 ALL REMOTE LEARNERS
June 3 In Person: PM - 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade
June 4 All Outstanding Chromebooks, Cords, Hotspots
All DPS devices will need to be turned back in to Hillandale before the end of the school year. The schedule above details when each grade level will turn in their devices. This collection includes Chromebooks, power cords, hotspots, and hotspot power cords.
Please note that when we ask what damage may have occurred or if anything is not working on the device, it is so that we can ensure that devices with warranties are sent out for repair over the summer. This will help us have a fully functional supply of laptops when we return in the fall.
Students who are attending school in person will turn in their devices upon their assigned school day. Please help your student remember to bring the Chromebook and the charging cable. If your family has been assigned a hotspot this year, please also send the hotspot and power cord.
If your student is attending school remotely, all devices will be returned on Wednesday June 2nd. Again, please be sure to bring not only the Chromebook, but the charging cable and hotspot if applicable.
As we collect our devices ahead of the last day of school, families will also receive information from teachers about activities that may include, but are not limited to choice boards with content from the grade-level standards, independent projects for student engagement with grade-level content, activity packets for students to complete, and additional classroom-specific options.
Once students have returned their laptops to school, students are no longer required to report to Zoom meetings with their teachers, but they will still have the opportunity to reach out to their teacher for assistance with their work in the case that they need to connect. As we bring this academic year to a close, we thank our families for reiterating to students that school is not out until the final day of school Friday, June 4.
Thank you for your assistance in our device collection process.
