Good evening Southern SES family! This is Mr. Leathers with the weekly update.
This week is Homecoming week! Our students will be engaged in many activities throughout the week to celebrate and root on our fall season teams. Each day, there will be a theme for our students to participate:
- Monday – Pajama Day – Dress Code will be enforced
- Tuesday - Anything but a Backpack Day- Our students are asked to be creative with their alternate Backpack, but their backpacks cannot be disruptive to the classroom or the school
- Wednesday – Opposite Day
- Thursday – Throwback Day – You can wear the trendiest fashion from any decade
- Friday – Schools Spirit Wear Day – you can wear your spartan Parapherna
The plan is to have a Pep Rally on Friday, provided the weather holds up. If you are going to sign your student out of school early on Friday, please do so before 2:00 pm. We will be super busy with managing the pep rally. Thank you, in advance.
The homecoming game for Friday is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm. Please get there early to avoid the lines.
Progress Reports are scheduled to go out to all students on September 28th . SSES will also have its Curriculum Night on September 28th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. Please continue to schedule meeting times with your student’s teachers. You can schedule meeting times with your counselor and/or the teacher.
SSES will have its school improvement meeting on October 3 at 4:30 pm in the media center and the PTSA Meeting is scheduled for October 3rd at 6:00 pm in the school’s media center. We will start the process of electing new officers and beginning the PTSA business for the new year. Both meetings are open to the SSES community.
Home Athletic Events this week
Monday – Soccer vs DSA 6:00 pm - This is a big match for our young men and we are counting on many of our students showing up to the soccer match to show your support with rooting our young men on.
Tuesday – Volleyball vs JF Web 6:00 pm
Friday – Football vs S. Granville HS 7:00
