Good evening Southern SES family! This is Mr. Leathers with the weekly update.
Parents, please make note that Southern SES will have its School Improvement meeting scheduled for Monday, November 7th in the media center, followed by our monthly PTSA meeting. Membership is $8 and it would be nice for many of our parents to become members as much as possible. The times for the meetings are as follows: School Improvement meeting is scheduled for 4:45 pm and PTSA is scheduled for 6:00 pm. I look forward to seeing as many of our parents as possible.
There will be no school for students on Tuesday, November 8 – it’s a Teacher's Workday. It's also Election Day. It is my sincere hope that all that are eligible to vote…will get to the polls and cast their votes. The impact of your vote is important to a balanced community.
There is no school on Friday, November 11th to observe the Veterans Holiday.
Congratulations to our boys’ soccer team outstanding season that ended last week in the second round of the state playoffs. Awesome season and I look forward to next season.
Congratulations to our football team for their victory in the first round of the state playoffs with their victory over Richland High School and they will play their second-round game vs Henderson Vance High School. The game has been moved to this Thursday at 7:30 pm due to all-day rain on Friday. I hope to see many of us there rooting our young men on to victory.
The Men's Basketball program will kick off their season with a Red and White game scheduled for Thursday starting at 5:30 pm. The Red and White game is free of charge to the public. Please support our basketball program and get a firsthand look at this year’s talent.
