Good morning Southern SES family! This is Mr. Leathers with the weekly update.
I hope this message finds everyone in a great place and we are prepared for another week at Southern SES.
Some of our seniors were able to attend the Infinite Scholars College Fair last Friday. Our seniors were able to receive college acceptance from many of the colleges and universities there and our seniors received over $600,000 dollars in scholarship money. A Big thank you to our UNC College Advisor Mr. Honeycutt and our Counselors Ms. Hogue, Mr. Bradley, and Ms. Adcock! They were able to prepare our students for such a successful day.
Please come out to participate with the Family & Community, Connect Day sponsored by the Durham PTA and the Network of Families, Inc. This event is scheduled for October 15th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Monday is Soccer Jersey Day
Tuesday is Dress as your favorite Famous Hispanic person day
Wednes. is Latinos in Action Day wear red
Thursday is Cowboy Day
Friday is Rep your flag day
Some of our 11th graders will take the PSAT, Wednesday, October 13th. The Juniors who were selected have been notified. This allows our students to be selected for the National Merit Honors. I wish our Juniors much Success.
All 10th graders will take the Pre-ACT assessment next Monday, October 17th. All 10th graders must take this assessment.
