Jordan High volleyball practices, games cancelled following positive COVID-19 test
Practices and games for the Jordan High junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams have been canceled through Tuesday, Dec. 15 after an individual associated with the Dec. 1 volleyball matches tested positive for COVID-19.
Following DPS and NCHSAA policies, both teams’ practices and games will be canceled through Dec. 15 to give the Durham County Department of Public Health adequate time for contact tracing and allow any attendees potentially exposed to quarantine for 14 days and be tested.
All players and team personnel have been masked and following district and NCHSAA health and safety procedures while participating in practices and games.
If any individuals are later confirmed to have been in close contact with the athletes, the health department will reach out to them.
Due to health, employment, and educational privacy laws, we are unable to provide any further information at this time. If we are able to do so, we will as soon as possible. Individuals with questions about COVID-19 may call the Durham County Department of Public Health at (919) 635-8150.
Since our initial closure in March, there continues to have been no transmission of the virus at a DPS facility.
