Therapeutic Programs are designed to meet the needs of students with disabilities who present significant behavioral and emotional concerns and who require a separate setting as determined by an IEP team and outlined in the student’s IEP.
These programs are highly structured, small settings that include a point and level system, token economy, and daily social skills instruction. These programs also offer support from Duke Child Development and Behavioral Health through scheduled rotations of a child psychiatrist. Program Managers are also available to link families to community resources and provide support through Child and Family Team meetings.
