Ways to help @ Rogers-Herr
You can make a difference at RHMS! Volunteer your time/talents for various events throughout the year, or serve as a member or chair of one of the committees below.
Advocacy
Chair: THIS POSITION IS OPEN!
Members: Open
Time Commitment: As small or big as you make it.
Responsibilities:
The advocacy committee shall develop and organize meetings, activities, and programs to further the goals and purposes of PTA. This committee is tasked with improving communications and relationships between school staff and families; educating families and caregivers on important issues related to the health and educational success of their children; and helping to make each child’s
potential a reality.- Early Release Lunches: help arrange food and delivery/deliver to the school for lunches for faculty on early release days and holiday breakfast in December.
- Staff Appreciation Week: help coordinate various appreciation activities and Staff Appreciation Week in May.
Audit
Chair: Torraine Williams
Members: 2 openings
Time commitment: Approximately 2 hours per month; a couple of hours in July
Responsibilities:
The audit committee shall be composed of no fewer than three members. Responsible for following a checklist to ensure accuracy of PTA finances. No finance experience necessary.
Fundraising

Time Commitment: As small or big as you want.
Responsibilities:
Lead the charge for various fundraising activities through direct donations, corporate sponsorships, grants, etc.
Membership

Responsibilities:
Propose and execute approved membership drives, run reports for meetings.
Nominating
Chair: THIS POSITION IS OPEN!
Members: Open
Time Commitment: Kicks off in February and ends at General Body meeting with elections. Few hours a month.
Responsibilities:
The nominating committee shall be comprised of an odd number and no fewer than three members; at least two of the committee members shall be board members and at least one committee member shall be a member of the local PTA who does not serve on the board. Tasked with identifying talented, motivated, and responsible individuals to serve as officers of this local PTA.
