    MRS. PAMELA RICE

I earned my Bachelors at Elon University, and studied film and photography at The New School in New York City. I travelled across Europe making independent films and teaching along the way. After returning to the States I earned an ESL add-on certificate from The University of North Carolina, and have been teaching at WG for the past 11 years. I love teaching non-fiction literature, because I love science and facts. Outside of WG you can find me playing competitive ping-pong, swimming at the pool or gardening. I also love walks at the beach or in the woods.

    MR. ELWOOD PETERS

I earned my Bachelors at the University of Florida and my Masters of School Administration at NC State. My Favorite subject to teach is humanities, it stretches across all subjects, people, and studies of culture. It facinates me. In my freetime you can find me enjoying life on a hike locally, or birdwatching in my backyard.

    MS. ASHLEY SANDERS

I graduated from Western Governors’ University with a B.A. in Elementary Education in 2018. I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in English Language Learning (TESOL). I previously worked in early childhood education as a preschool teacher in a Reggio school, and as a teacher at a small non-profit. This is my first year teaching with Durham Public Schools. My favorite subject is definitely English Language Arts. I especially love project-based learning, in which students can dive deep into what they are learning and create their own connections and meaning in literature, while being creative. Outside of school, I can be found spending time with my kiddo, exploring the rich and diverse culture of Bull City, re-reading Harry Potter, watching anime, caring for my cacti (the only plants that I can keep alive), volunteering with local refugee and education organizations, serving at church, experimenting with new recipes at home-- or napping.
