Hi! I am Ms. Barker the fourth grade math and science teacher. I graduated from Moneague College with a diploma, Mico University College with a Bachelor's degree in Primary Education and am currently studying for a Masters' Degree from East Carolina University. I have nine years of teaching experience. This is my third year teaching fourth grade math and my first year teaching science. I love teaching because every day I make a positive difference in children’s lives, which goes far beyond knowledge. I’m from the beautiful island of Jamaica in a city called Linstead. I am the mother of a beautiful baby girl who just turned one. Outside of school, I enjoy dancing, listening to music, shopping and spending time with my family and friends. 

My name is Martha Lloyd and I teach ELA in fourth grade at W.G. Pearson Elementary School. I’m from an island called St. Croix. It's located in the U.S. Virgin Islands. I have two young adults and a pet cat. I have also been coaching volleyball for a club in Durham for 6 years. I enjoy playing table tennis, board games and spending time with my family. I worked for DPS for about thirteen years. I taught K-2 for about twenty years. I started teaching ELA in 4th grade three years ago. I love teaching because I enjoy interacting with my students. I love learning from them. I love helping them understand the content and I love it when they see the connection between what they are learning and their lives.
