Ms. Hunter
My name is Bianca Hunter. I am the 5th grade Math & Science teacher at WG. Pearson. I have been a teacher for 8 years for Durham Public Schools. I am pleased to be continuing my passion for education and service to my community. I received my bachelor’s degree at Winston Salem State University in Winston Salem, NC in Elementary Education with a secondary focus in special education. My favorite pastimes include binge watching TV shows, crafting and working with marching bands. I currently coach a college color guard (Flag team) within the marching band in the local area.

Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Bumphus
My name is Ms C. Bumphus and I have been in the education field for 15 years, teaching in elementary, middle and high school. I am a Professional Licensed II Highly Qualified teacher. I have accomplished many things in life, from managing and training managers for a large Retail Company, Radio Sales Representative, Customer Service/Advertising, Verizon wireless, Coaching Sports, to owning a Tutoring Agency, in which all these positions have shaped my views when providing an educational experience to the students. I currently have a Degree in Computer Operations, ASS in Criminal Justice, BA in History, MA in History, Political Science, NC Lateral entry and NC Teach Program completion, and Leadership in Administration Credits. I have been inducted into a couple of Social Science Societies, namely Phi Gamma Mu and Theta Alpha Theta Honor Societies. Both require the ability to achieve higher than the rest and to have a GPA of 3.6 or above and to be a high achiever. For example, a few of my accomplishments are the High Achiever Award 2000-2003, Chief Justice Award 2002, a Member of Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society for Social Science, and a Member of Theta Alpha Theta Honors Society. This accomplishment requires a lot of discipline and hard work, all qualities that I put into teaching and building our future leaders to have the most productive and high quality education possible. I encourage teamwork, a quality that empowers each student. For myself, as a short stop softball player, track and field participant, and point guard basketball player and receiving MVP player awards. I learned that being a team player enables a win, win for everyone involved on the team. This is why reaching out to parents and getting them involved is important to everyone's goals. With these experiences and being a parent myself, I know we as a team can move our students to where they need to be academically.
