Donations

  • Durham Public Schools maintains a computing environment that includes a mix of Microsoft Windows computers and Google Chromebooks.  DPS can only accept donations that both benefit the teaching and learning setting and can be used during required online testing.

    Windows PC Standard

    • Operating System - Windows 10 Pro
    • Processor - Intel i5 or better
    • RAM -  8GB
    • Storage - 128 GB SSD (HDDs larger than 100 GB will also be accepted)


    Macbook/iMac Standard

    • Operating System - Mojave (10.14)
    • Processor - Intel i5 or better
    • RAM - 8 GB
    • Storage - 128 GB SSD (HDDs larger than 100GB will also be accepted in iMacs)


    Chromebook Standard

    ***Must include Google Console License***

    • Operating System - Chrome OS
    • Display – 11.6” Screen with 1024x768
    • Processor – 1.6 Ghz Intel Celeron Processor or better
    • RAM – 4GB
    • Storage – 16GB SSD 


    Chrome Tablet Standard

    ***Must include Google Console License***

    • Operating System - Chrome OS
    • Touch Enabled 9.7” Backlit Screen (2048x1538 Resolution)
    • Processor - Dual-core Processor
    • RAM – 4 GB
    • Storage – 32 GB SSD
    • USB-C Port
    • Built-in microphone and speakers
    • Camera(s) – Front and Rear facing cameras
    • Connectivity – 802.11ac WLAN
    • Battery – Lithium Ion 4500mAh


    Other Requirements & Standards

    • All portable devices must include an appropriate power supply in safe working condition.
    • All monitor donations must be at least 20” in diagonal size with 1024x768 resolution and include any non-standard power cables.
    • Durham Public Schools does not accept printer donations.
