    Weekly Update 9-29-19

    Greetings Glenn Pride,

We have had a beautiful weekend. I hope you were able to get outside with your children. I visited Page Farms with my grandchildren this weekend and rode the hay wagon, went through a corn maze, and played in the corn crib. Hopefully, you were able to spend some time playing as a family.

Before I begin with this week's update I want to mention again how excited I am about our Open House and Hispanic Heritage Family Event we enjoyed on Thursday. The classrooms looked great, the music was enjoyable, and our meal was out of sight! The event was an example of our trait of teamwork last week. We had staff members, children, families, and community partners to make our night a success. Thank you, again, for coming!!

This week our character strength we will discuss is open-mindedness. Open-mindedness is the willingness to actively search for evidence that goes against one’s favored beliefs, plans, or goals. Open-minded people do not jump to conclusions. Instead, they seek out and examine all of the available evidence before forming an opinion.

You should have received your child's progress report on Wednesday. Please spend some time reviewing the information and contact your child's teacher for a conference to discuss it if you have any questions.

Lastly, we are continuing to have tardies and early dismissals. Please remember that when you bring your child to school late they are missing directions and the focus for their day. In addition if you are checking your child out early they are missing valuable instruction and the closing information for the day. Please try to make sure that your child is at school every day and on time.

Have a wonderful evening and we will see you in the morning!!

    Karen Kellett
