Traffic & Parking Information
Please note that there is still active construction on Duke’s campus. Due to construction, parking availability and traffic routes may change between now and graduation.
***Please pay careful attention and allow extra time.***
Please note the following road closures:
- Science Drive will be closed to all traffic at the 751 intersection during peak pedestrian-traffic times. Times will vary. Please follow the directions of the traffic control officers.
Graduation guests will park in the Science Drive Parking Garage. A Durham Public Schools Parking Pass is NOT required for this garage.
If using a GPS please use 3059 Cameron Blvd as the address for the Science Drive Garage.
Once the Science Drive Garage is full, you will be redirected to park in the Blue Zone.
There will be General Public Shuttle service from the Science Drive Garage to Cameron. Guests who wish to utilize the shuttles instead of walking to Cameron, will need to walk to the Shuttle Pick-Up/Drop-Off location designated on the attached facility and parking map. Please be aware that there may be a wait for the shuttles and the shuttle transport time may take longer than walking due to traffic.
If you have questions, please be sure to ask your parking attendant.
Parking for graduates driving themselves to Duke for rehearsal and ceremony is in Blue Zone Lot 7 on a first-come first-served basis.
Graduates will receive a graduate parking pass that will serve as a visual signal to the traffic and parking attendants in order to help direct them to the correct lot.
Accessible parking will be in Blue Zone Lot 5 on a first-come first-served basis.
Individuals needing accessible parking should request a parking pass from their school. The pass is simply a visual signal to the traffic and parking attendants to help direct the vehicle to the ADA lot thereby helping to keep traffic flowing smoothly.
Once this lot is full, accessible parking will overflow to another lot. Please follow the instructions of your parking attendant.
An ADA bus will provide shuttle service from this lot to Cameron. The ADA shuttle drop-off is in the Card Gym Lot on the north side of Cameron.
Guests who wish to utilize the shuttles instead of walking to Cameron will need to walk to the Shuttle Pick-Up/Drop-Off location designated on the attached facility and parking map. Please be aware that there may be a wait for the shuttles. If overflow lots are used, shuttles will adjust their route to include those lots as well.
The general shuttle drop-off is at the Whitford Drive Circle on the south side of Cameron.
The ADA shuttle drop-off is in the Card Gym Lot on the north side of Cameron.
WALK TIMES & DISTANCES
Cameron Indoor Stadium is a short walk from both the Science Drive Parking Garage and the Blue Zone Parking Lots. Walk paths are indicated on the parking map. Walking from the either the Science Drive Parking Garage or Blue Zone to Cameron may take anywhere from 10-15 minutes.
If you have any concerns about the ability of guests in your party to make the walk to Cameron, please make the short walk to the Shuttle Pick-Up/Drop-Off location and ride the shuttle to Cameron.
