The online application period is in January each year, and applicants must have an email address and use their child’s PowerSchool student ID number to complete the application.

Rogers-Herr is a regional calendar magnet school. Students are eligible to apply to RHMS only if they live in the attendance zones for the following elementary schools: Bethesda, Creekside, Fayetteville St., Forest View, Hope Valley, Lakewood, Parkwood, WG Pearson, EK Powe, YE Smith, Southwest, and CC Spaulding.

In the lottery for RHMS, priority is given to students who are siblings of current RHMS students, siblings of students who are also applying to RHMS, or students currently attending Pearsontown Elementary, provided they submit an application and select RHMS as their first choice. Please note that this is not a guarantee for a seat.

Lottery Results will be posted in the application portal on March of the application year.

More information about magnet schools and the application process can be found on the DPS Magnet Programs webpage.
