Dr. Daniel Kelvin Bullock

Dr. Daniel Kelvin Bullock is the Executive Director for Equity Affairs for Durham Public Schools. In this role, he specializes in identifying and reducing inequities that exist in students’ educational experiences. While not restricted to any particular disparities, the foundation of his work is in addressing racial inequities. Dr. Bullock has been an educator for over a decade and has previously served as a social studies teacher and curriculum specialist

Jermaine Porter

Mr. Jermaine Porter currently serves as the Equity Leadership and Strategy Coordinator for Equity Affairs with Durham Public Schools. Where he ensures equitable opportunities for all students of Durham Public Schools by developing and facilitating professional development to include but not limited to a variety of training to promote cultural understanding, competency, equity and inclusion. Mr. Porter is an innovative leader he has developed multiple initiatives and programs for Durham Public Schools such “Barbershop Talk” and “KINGS Conversations” which were an open forum for all district stakeholders to discuss systems to support boys of color and listen to successful men of color share their experiences of being men of color. In addition, Mr. Porter developed and coordinated the “We Are Kings” boys of color program throughout the Durham Public Schools that promotes empowerment, social, racial, and academic identity development.

Mr. Porter is a lifelong learner and proud graduate of North Carolina A&T University where he received his Bachelor’s Science Degree in Business. He received his Master’s Degree in School Administration from Gardner Webb University and is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Education with a focus on Organizational Leadership. Part of his life's work is sharing his passion for learning, education, and equity by presenting at various conferences and encouraging others to become co-conspirators for change.

Iwinosa Idahor, Ph.D.

Iwinosa Idahor, Ph.D. serves as the Student Equity, Engagement and Opportunity Coordinator with Durham Public Schools. In this role, she primarily provides support and facilitates additional professional learning for We Are Kings/We Are Queens coordinators across the district. In this role, she also develops, implements, evaluates and supports diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives geared towards students from marginalized and underrepresented groups. Her myriad of experiences with students include work at the K-12 and college levels.
