This is my fourth year at Mangum and I am so blessed to be part of this caring and generous community. I grew up in Bahama and am a DPS graduate. I attended undergraduate and graduate school at Wingate University, where I also played volleyball. I enjoy teaching for many reasons, but the main one is the kids! They brighten each day with their smiles, humor, light-heartedness and curiosity. I count it a sincere privilege to be one of their many teachers throughout their lives.
My husband and I stay busy at home with our 4 children! I love spending time with my family, reading, cooking, and working out. I am looking forward to another great year at Mangum!
My name is Kayla Roberts, and this is my sixth school year teaching at Mangum Elementary. I grew up in Bahama, NC and attended Mangum Elementary School in kindergarten through fifth grade. I decided when I was in fourth grade that I wanted to be a teacher, and I have not changed my mind since. I graduated from Meredith College with a bachelor of psychology and a NC kindergarten through sixth grade teaching license. I am married to my best friend, named Dillon, and have two boys. My oldest son is three years old named Jones and we have another boy named Lile that was born last September. As a family, we love going to Carolina Beach, Kerr Lake and traveling as a family. I love drinking coffee, spending time in my garden and cooking from scratch. I love being a teacher and I love teaching at Mangum Elementary!
