I am so very excited to be back for my 9th year teaching at Mangum. The strong sense of community and the warmth of all those that work here make Mangum a wonderful place to be. I taught kindergarten in Wake Forest for five years, and then I transitioned to Glenn Elementary in Durham where I was a reading specialist for four years. I also have a master's degree in literacy from UNC Chapel Hill. I live in Bahama with my husband, Jeremy, and our two children. I love having my children here at school with me. Ava will be in 4th grade this year and Levi in 1st grade.

I enjoy spending time at the beach, watching my children play softball and bowl and just being with family.

    Kristen Barnhill

Hi! I am very excited to be a part of the Mangum community this year. I am a Durham native, DPS graduate, and earned my Child Development and Early Education degree from UNC Greensboro. I have happily taught first grade for the past eight years at Easley Year Round Elementary in Durham, and have also taught second grade at Eno Valley. My daughter Kate is entering Carrington Middle this year and my son Kyle is a rising sophomore Northern Knight. My oldest son Cade is a sophomore who studies business and plays football at UNC Charlotte. I enjoy first grade because I love teaching children to become readers and writers. In my spare time you can find me cheering with my husband Todd at our sons' football and baseball games, and watching my daughter dance. I also have a cocker spaniel puppy named Koda that brings a lot of happiness and laughter to our family.

    Kay Maunder

I grew up as an MK (missionary kid), mainly in Kenya and South Africa , but also spent a couple of years in France and the UK. We moved to Bahama 23 years ago and have loved it ever since. My husband, Steven, and I have 3 children - Jordan, Trevor, and Callie, (who all attended Mangum) . I love to travel, read, see good movies, and eat food that reminds me of my years in Africa! One of my favorite things to do is have a cup of Chai tea! I also love working at Mangum and can't wait to meet all the new faces each year!
