KINDERGARTEN
My name is Nancy Wicker and I am a graduate of Meredith College. I earned my BS in Child Development and I am certified K-6. This is my 25th year teaching in the public school system and my 18th year here at Mangum. I am beyond thrilled to be teaching Kindergarten, here at Mangum. I am married to a wonderful guy named Kevin. I have two terrific children. Michael is owner of All-Star Contracting and Libby is a freshman at UNC-CH. I love DPS and Mangum has my heart.
I am so excited to be starting another year at Mangum!!! This will be my 20th year at this great school. I have 3 sons, a soon to be daughter-in-law (Culley, Mack, Luke, Libby) and a wonderful husband (Rob). I graduated from Belmont Abbey College with an Early Childhood Education degree. I feel so lucky to be a part of this school. We truly have the best kids, parents, community, and teachers around!!!!
Hello Mangum Families! This is my 28th year with DPS! I am so excited to be an Instructional Assistant again this year in Kindergarten with Leslie Fenlon. I love helping the Kindergarten students grow and learn so much during their first year of school! Because of my Nursing background, I particularly enjoy supporting students with various medical needs and being part of the Emergency Response team at Mangum.
On a personal note, I have been married for 42 years to my college sweetheart, Michael. God has given us 2 wonderful children who are both married, and 4 adorable grandchildren! My hobbies include Reading, Photography, & DIY crafts.
I am so thankful to be a part of this wonderful school!I joined Mangum in August of 2017 as an Instructional Assistant. I love being a part of the Mangum Family, particularly, Mrs. Wicker’s Kindergarten Class. I was previously an assistant preschool teacher at ALDERSGATE Weekday School.
I have three daughters - Skylar, a General ICU Nurse at Novant in Charlotte; Starr, a senior at Edgecombe Community College, MRI Program and Summer, a sophomore and volleyball athlete at Pfeiffer University. I enjoy our five dogs and two cats, the beach, our farm and spending time with my family and friends.I grew up as an MK (missionary kid), mainly in Kenya and South Africa , but also spent a couple of years in France and the UK. We moved to Bahama 23 years ago and have loved it ever since. My husband, Steven, and I have 3 children - Jordan, Trevor, and Callie, (who all attended Mangum) . I love to travel, read, see good movies, and eat food that reminds me of my years in Africa! One of my favorite things to do is have a cup of Chai tea! I also love working at Mangum and can't wait to meet all the new faces each year!
