    Lottery Details

Rogers-Herr is a regional calendar magnet school. Students are eligible to apply to RHMS only if they live in the attendance zones for the following elementary schools: Bethesda, Creekside, Fayetteville St., Forest View, Hope Valley, Lakewood, Lyons Farm, Parkwood, WG Pearson, EK Powe, YE Smith, Southwest, and CC Spaulding.

In the lottery for RHMS, priority is given to students who are siblings of current RHMS students, siblings of students who are also applying to RHMS/another year-round school, or students currently attending Pearsontown Elementary, provided they submit an application and select RHMS as their first choice. Please note that this is not a guarantee for a seat.

Following the application period, DPS conducts admissions lotteries before the results are posted on the SmartChoice Dashboard website, usually at the beginning of March. Applicants selected through the lottery process must usually accept or decline their lottery seat on the SmartChoice Dashboard website within two weeks of posting.

More information about the application process will be posted when the application opens in January.
