Cans for Club
A weekend backpack/emergency food program was started in the fall of 2009 for several identified Club Boulevard Elementary School students in need. Backpacks of food are sent home two Fridays a month to bridge the weekend hunger gap so children can come to school Monday ready to learn.
Backpacks contain goods such as:
- proteins such as soup, spaghetti & meatballs, peanut butter
- cans of fruit and vegetables
- fruit juice boxes and sterilized milk boxes
- popcorn, raisins, granola bars, instant oatmeal, animal/graham crackers
In addition to the weekend backpacks, we also send home large boxes of food for the student's entire family during Thanksgiving, winter break and spring break, as well as at the end of the school year.
