Beginning sophomore year, students at ECHS take courses offered by North Carolina Central University.
During the first semester of the sophomore year, students take Dimensions of Learning. This course is taught in the NCCU School of Education by an NCCU faculty member. During the spring semester, students take Health. This course is taught on campus, but only includes ECHS students.
During the junior and senior year, students take a wide variety of course offerings from NCCU. Students are in classes with traditional NCCU students. During the junior year these courses make up 75% of a student's schedule. During senior year these courses make up 100% of a student's schedule. Typically, students will take courses via NCCU's General Education Curriculum. These courses make up the foundation of most Liberal Arts coursework.
