School Counseling Program
We provide a comprehensive school counseling program that fosters student achievement and enhances the academic, personal/social, and career development of all students. School counselors collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators and community agencies to promote student success. We provide services through:
- individual student planning and academic advising
- individual counseling and small group counseling
- crisis intervention and mental health referrals
- classroom lessons
Child and Family Support Team (CFST)
Neal Middle continues to be a part of CFST. This is an initiative consisting of the school nurse and social worker. CFST is a special state-funded program whose purpose it to identify and coordinate appropriate school and community services/supports for children at-risk of school failure, pregnant or at-risk of pregnancy, engagement in high level of unsafe activities, court involved, suicidal, family crisis, out-of-home placement and/or developmental factors that affect academic performance.
Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS)
MTSS is a multi-tiered system of support, which promotes school improvement through engaging, research-based academic and behavioral practices. MTSS employs a systems approach to using data guided problem solving to maximize growth for all students.
