Weekly note from Dr. Hogans

February 19, 2017

Beaver Nation Families,

Our annual mass vision screening at first grade will take place this Tuesday. Parents: please be sure to remember to have students to wear their glasses that day if they do so.

As has been shared earlier in the year, Little River receives Title 1 funds to help serve our students. Tuesday night is the next Title 1 PAC night for interested families to be held at the Durham Armory.

Third graders will be participating in Read with the Blue Devils this Wednesday.

Ms. Waller, our school cafeteria manager, has shared with me that Little River has a Lunch Room Angel! A generous member of our community has paid the outstanding balances in our cafeteria (regardless of how small). We thank this individual on behalf of our school community.

Be a heart hero & collect donations for Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart. You will also help Little River earn PE equipment! You have until this Friday to collect donations. Students may bring in their first $5.00 donation to receive Rory the lion!

Spring athletics are here! Middle schoolers completed tryouts last week. We’re looking forward to a great spring season.

Lastly, we have a few birthdays to announce this week: Elijah in Ms. Walton’s class; William in Ms. Freeman’s class; and Leslie in Ms. Powers’ class. Happy birthday to each of these Beavers.

That is all for now. Have a good night and a great week! And remember to walk the river way every day in Beaver Nation: to learn respect and shine!

Dr. Cory Hogans
