Traditional Schools Start Thursday, August 25!
DPS is gearing up for a SmoothStart to the 2011-12 school year. What supplies will be needed? When are open houses? What’s the dress code? These and many other questions are answered on the Durham Public Schools SmoothStart Website. This special site is a great resource for parents as you get ready for the new school year.
Don’t forget the state’s Sales Tax Free School Supply Weekend is the first Friday in August through the first Sunday in August.
In response to parent requests, the DPS Website also includes school supply lists. If your child is not registered for classes, please call the school as soon as possible so your child will be ready for class on the first day. Now is also a good time to complete all lunch, athletic and other forms, and to make sure that you have also registered for before and after-school care. Help make this a SmoothStart to the new school year.
