Philosophy
Lowe's Grove Middle School provides a comprehensive program that embraces the middle school philosophy. We provide a nurturing environment that prepares students for the transition from middle to high school. Students are given the opportunity to explore various curricula in vocational and extended core classes. We provide a safe, supportive, and challenging environment where all children learn and whose graduates are capable of achieving a balance between their self-actualization and their functioning as a valued member of society.
We envision Lowe's Grove as a place where students want to come everyday, where parents want to send their children everyday, and where teachers want to come everyday.
Teaching
Lowe's Grove provides a comprehensive instructional program that meets the needs of our diverse student population. Through the team approach we provide ability grouping in language arts and math. We use the interdisciplinary approach to incorporate extended core classes with academics (language arts, math, science, and social studies).
Our After-School Program provides structured activities as well as remediation in reading and math for students in all three grade levels. Under the supervision of our after-school staff, our students are provided with opportunities that will help them grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
The overall instructional program emphasizes the goal of improving student performance.
Services for Academically/Intellectually Gifted Students
The Academically/Intellectually Gifted classes at Lowe's Grove are set up with pull-out programs for grades 6-8 in Language Arts. The 6th grade classes also use some cluster grouping within non pull-out classes. We also offer advanced math to all three grades and students may take Algebra I and Geometry.
